There was a discussion on the Hang Gliding Yahoo! Group about using the audible alert from a Vario as a ring tone. After a bit of trying my Sprint phone has now been loaded with the audio clip below. Our phones have a USB cable that allows us to upload files directly. If you have this capability, you can save the file above and use it as you wish. For those that do not have this capability you can 'send' the file to your phone. There are a number of software packages on the web that will allow you to do this. You will need a phone that has web capability. We tried an evaluation copy of Create-Ringtone. It is available for download at create-ringtone.com. You may "evaluate it" free for 15 days.
